Delete your loozy account
This is a courtesy translation. If there is any discrepancy, the Portuguese (Portugal) version prevails.
This page explains how to delete your loozy account, what gets deleted and what stays. It applies to both the Android and iOS versions.
For data processing in general, see the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.
1. Deleting from inside the app
This is the fastest way and does not require writing to us.
- Open loozy and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Tap Account settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm with your password.
We ask for the password again on purpose: it is what stops someone holding your phone from destroying your account.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no recovery window and we cannot restore the account once you confirm.
2. Requesting by email
If you have already uninstalled the app, lost access to your phone or cannot sign in, write to privacidade@loozygo.com asking for deletion, from the email address you registered with.
If you write from a different address, we have to confirm the account is yours before deleting anything. We do not ask for identity documents: we ask for something only the account holder would know.
We reply within 1 month, the GDPR deadline, and within 15 days for confirmation and access requests under Brazil's LGPD. In practice it is much faster.
3. What gets deleted
Everything that identifies you disappears from the database:
- your account: name, username, email and password;
- your public profile and everything shown on it;
- sex and age range, if you provided them;
- your reviews and comments;
- your photos, both the records and the stored files;
- your reports and the users you blocked;
- your saved toilets;
- the record of the consents you gave;
- every open session, on every device.
4. What stays, and why
The toilets you added to the map stay, with no link to you. The record saying you were the one who added it is deleted, and the toilet is no longer connected to any person.
The reason is simple: the location of a public toilet is not personal data about you, and deleting it would destroy the map for everyone who relies on it. Once anonymised, the information says nothing about you.
If any of those contributions happens to contain something that identifies you, write to us and we will delete that contribution as well.
5. What disappears a little later
Two things are not instant, for technical reasons:
- Server technical logs. They hold, among other things, the IP address of each request, and are deleted after 30 days. They are not used to identify you, only to understand failures and abuse.
- Database backups. They are kept for 7 days and then destroyed. While they exist, they contain the state of the database before the deletion. We only touch them to recover from a failure, never to look up deleted accounts.
